Find Out How Much One Hour of Your Time is Worth

value your time

In this post, we're going to take a step back and get a good frame of mind around the value of our time. The whole purpose of The TOP Program is to ensure that you have repeatable systems and processes that ultimately free up the time in your life, so you have time for the things you love. That's the whole goal.

Your Time is Valuable

It's not about hustling, working harder, or getting up earlier. It's about getting the most important things done in a way that doesn't stress you out and frees up time for you to do the things you want to do. Not just the things that you have to do.

I want you to take a minute and think about how much your time is worth. How much would it be worth if someone were to pay you for an hour of your time? I want you to come to a realistic and honest answer here.

I can guarantee that most of you are undervaluing your time and how important it is to free up time in your life. The simple way to walk through this is to think about all of the roles you play in your life that you would have to pay to outsource them and how much you would have to pay an hour for someone else to do them.

Imagine the Cost of Hiring YOU Out

If you have young kids, you need to hire a babysitter. We're looking at around $15 an hour for that, depending on where you live. Then think about the cooking, meal prep, planning, shopping, cleaning. If you were to hire a chef, how much would that cost? Or to pay for a meal prep service? What about a chauffeur to get everyone where they need to be?

How much would it cost you to hire out all the errands you typically run if you take care of the finances for your household factor that in too. Some light bulbs should be going off as you go through all this. If you were to outsource everything you typically do, it would take a considerable amount of money.

Now let's apply this to thinking about if I can guarantee you that I will teach you how to free up at the bare minimum of one hour a day. And I'll tell you that the people who go through The TOP Program and come out the other side and have implemented the systems free up far more than one hour a day. But let's start just there.

Now back to the babysitter example, which was $15 an hour. If I could free up one hour a day at fifteen dollars an hour? If you do that math, that translates to a savings of one hundred and five dollars a week if it's one hour a day and five thousand six hundred and seventy dollars a year. So at the barest minimum, $15 an hour. If you're listening to this, guess what? You're worth far more than fifteen dollars an hour.

So now let's bump that up and say, OK, fifty dollars an hour again, you're worth more than that. But I just want to give you these examples here. So if I said fifty dollars an hour, I'm going to save one hour a day at fifty dollars an hour. We're looking at three hundred and fifty dollars a week. We're looking at eighteen thousand two hundred and fifty dollars a year.

Your Time is Valuable

Now I want to go way up there because I want to tell you right now, all of you reading at a bare minimum, your time is worth at least two hundred and fifty dollars an hour. Seriously.

When you look at all that you do in your life right now and at two hundred and fifty dollars an hour, if you were to save one hour a week, we're looking at one thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars in a week. That translates to ninety-four thousand five hundred dollars a year. That is massive. Now again, this is just one hour a day. The women who go through the top program and implement the systems and processes I teach are comprehensive weekly and monthly planning. They're easily reclaiming two hours a day.

Is it Worth Your Time or Money?

I always like to have that in the back of my head when I'm in the middle of doing something, and I want to ask myself, would I trade two hundred and fifty dollars an hour right now to not be doing what I'm doing? Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes the answer is no. For example, if I'm snuggled up on the couch on a Friday night with my family, and we're having a movie night, no, I would not. I would not trade that for two hundred and fifty dollars an hour.

The reason I'm able to enjoy that downtime is that I've already gotten the most important things done in ways that have not stressed me out through the systems and processes that I teach and I use inside of The TOP Program.

They're going to make sure that you are structuring activities, tasks, and time on your calendar in the right way so that we're reducing that hustle. We're reducing that overwhelmed and frantic feeling, and we are seamlessly moving throughout our day with ease and then enjoying the downtime that we have. And when we have that, it opens up this space for us to have that precious time back in our lives.
